The hearing is not the deadline

To speak at a licensing hearing you must already have written in. Representations close 28 days after the application is made — usually well before the hearing is listed on this page.

• Anyone can write in. The “vicinity” test was abolished in 2012 — you don't have to live nearby, and you can write in support as well as against.
• Engage a licensing objective or it's rejected. Only four count: crime and disorder, public safety, public nuisance, protection of children from harm.
• Say you want to attend. A valid representation gets you invited to the hearing; you must reply to confirm.
• CIA marks a cumulative impact area — a rebuttable presumption of refusal, where the applicant must show they won't add to cumulative impact. SCZ is a special consideration zone: a council invention, not in the Act.
